A fire broke out on the first floor of a two-story home on North Parsonage Way Friday afternoon that was quickly knocked out. The fire ignited in the laundry room and did not extend to any other rooms, according to Manalapan Township Fire Company #1 Fire Chief Ryan Perrone.
Manalapan Township Fire Company #1, the Englishtown Fire Department, and the Gordons Corner Fire Company all responded to the scene along with patrolmen from the Manalapan Police Department.
The home is owned by Charles Marchese, according to New Jersey Tax Records. No one was hurt in the fire, although family members were home at the time that it ignited.
Manalapan Township Fire Marshall Rick Hogan was on the scene investigating after the fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Hogan as of Friday evening.
An Englishtown Fire Department member said that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but they were informed over the radio that the fire may have stemmed from the dryer in the upstairs laundry room.
